Florida Tech ranked among top national universities for 12th consecutive year
among the best colleges in US News & World Report’s annual ranking
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech was once again ranked among the top national universities in the 2022 edition of the US News & World Report’s Top Colleges Rankings.
Evaluating 1,466 bachelor’s degree-granting institutions on 17 measures of academic quality, including retention and graduation rates, peer review surveys, class size and faculty compensation, the Annual ranking includes approximately 400 schools in the magazine’s Best National Universities category.
For the 12th consecutive year, Florida Tech is part of this group. This is one of six Florida private schools on the list. Additionally, among 78 Florida-based colleges and universities in the Florida Best Colleges Rankings, Florida Tech was tied at No.8.
Florida Tech has also been recognized for its STEM strengths.
The university was among the top 202 schools in the country and one of nine institutions in Florida on the list of best colleges for undergraduate engineering programs in schools offering doctorates in engineering. These rankings are based on the judgments of deans and senior professors at peer institutions.
Florida Tech was also cited for its undergraduate computer science programs. Among the 538 schools nationwide, Florida Tech’s program was # 178 and 5th among the 17 Florida programs included.
“Florida Tech is a very good university with a great future,” said President T. Dwayne McCay. “The success of our alumni remains our greatest strength, because they are leaders in their field. The best is yet to come for this booming university.
The magazine again highlighted the international diversity of Florida Tech. The university’s 22% of international students ranked fourth in the country, behind just three New York-based schools – the New School, Rochester University and New York University.
“International students can add diversity to a college or university, enriching the experience of other students on campus,” the magazine writes.
“Schools with a strong global presence often have a multitude of cultural groups and events, allowing international students to share their food, music and traditions with their American peers.”
Earlier this year, the publication featured two Florida Tech online programs in its first 2021 ranking of the best online bachelor programs. Florida Tech’s online Bachelor of Commerce program was # 2 among 73 private universities, and its online psychology program was the # 3 private school on the list.
Offering over 100 different digital rankings and lists each year, the 2022 college rankings are now available on US News & World Report.
